Thanksgiving

Psalms 106:1(NKJV)  Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Thanksgiving is a decision.  Like other dimensions of our Christian disciplines, thanksgiving is not necessarily an emotional response.  Certainly there are times while thinking upon the goodness of the Lord and his blessings toward us we feel thankful and great emotion swells within.  However, thanksgiving needs to grow into a discipline of the heart.

Believers who respond to God when they perceive his goodness and mercy manifest a wonderful thing.  Thanksgiving given to God from an attitude of the heart on a daily basis is a sign of maturity.  Immaturity responds to what it senses within its own realm of understanding.  Maturity lives with a gratefulness that comes from a long time of seeing the faithfulness of God and understands that He is working on our behalf when we don't see it, when we don't understand it and even when we are tempted to think He is not!  Thankfulness as a daily faith posture is pleasing and honoring to our God.

Join me this week as we make a decision to learn how to better live in an attitude of Thanksgiving.

Well put. I really like the statement about how thanksgiving is a sign of mature character. Thank you for your input and ministry. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

DEAR MOMMA AND PAPA, SORRY I HAVEN'T COMMUNICATED IN A WHILE. WELL, WE DO IN OUR PRAYERS OFTEN, BUT ACTUALLY TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE(ALONG WITH A THRONE SONG) IS MUCH BETTER. WE WISH WE COULD GIVE YOU A HUG TOO, MAYBE THAT WOULD HELP US WARM UP....GETTING VERY COLD UP HERE IN THE HILLS.
THANK YOU FOR THE MESSAGE ON THANK YOU. JOAN AND I PRACTICE THAT HEART SONG TO THE LORD ALMIGHTY ABOUT JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. YES, SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO GIVE THANKS AT ALL TIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN SICKNESS IS UPON US OR WE ARE GRIEVING ETC., BUT THE COOL THING IS THAT JESUS REACHES OUT TO US IN THOSE TIMES. PUTTING HIS HAND IN OURS, HE REVEALS THAT HE INDEED IS TOUCHED BY OUR INFIRMITIES. OH LET US GIVE THANKS. MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU BUNCHES AND BUNCHES. JOAN AND KENNY G. P.S. WE WILL OVERCOME BY THE WORD (HIS WORD IN OUR HEART AND MOUTH...THE BREAD OF LIFE) AND THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB (THE GREAT EVER INCREASING MERCY OF OUR FATHER). COMMUNION NEVER FELT SO GOOD.
